One of the best parts of summer is enjoying an easy to make strawberry popsicles recipe (made with honey).

The sweetness of the strawberries plus the smoothness of the honey is one of my favorite summer combinations. This recipe brings me right back to summers as a kid.
The best part is this recipe is not only good for your summer soul but is on the healthier side as well. Using honey instead of refined sugar means it’s healthier, right?! Come join me as I take you through one of my favorite summertime treats; strawberry popsicles!
What are the benefits of strawberries and honey?
According to healthline.com, strawberries are, “rich in antioxidants and an excellent source of vitamin C, manganese, folate (vitamin B9), and potassium.” So you will feel good giving your children these delicious popsicles.
Honey is rich in antioxidants and it is a better alternative to refined sugar. Plus honey has a delicious floral flavor to it that you can’t beat. The trick here though is to get high-quality honey, preferably from a local beekeeper or honey supplier. Check around your area, see if there are any local places that sell their honey.
What are some tips and important information for this strawberry popsicles recipe?
- Kids younger than one years old should not be given honey. Honey contains bacteria that are toxic to babies. If planning on giving these popsicles to a baby, use a different types of sweeteners like sugar, agave syrup, or maple syrup.
- You can use a blender, any type, I use my immersion blender for this recipe or a food processor.
- Thoroughly blend the strawberry slurry to have smooth, evenly textured popsicles.
- If this is your first time making popsicles, and you don’t have a popsicle mold, never fear. You could use a regular ice cube tray for mini popsicles. So fun!
- When filling your popsicle tray up, leave some room on top to allow for expansion while the mixture freezes.

Variations for the strawberry: Let’s say you only have a few cups of strawberries and have some other fruit laying around. Why not throw those into the mix to see what other delicious combinations you could make. You could add: banana, blueberries, blackberries, citrus (lemon or lime), raspberries, mint, peach, or pineapple.
Variations for the water: If you have juice from other fruits, try adding that in place of the water.
Variations for the honey: Maybe you are out of honey or you want to give these popsicles to an infant (children under the age of one should not eat honey). Instead of honey, you can try agave syrup, maple syrup, or granulated sugar. Adjust the amount of sweetener as needed.
How to store strawberry popsicles?
If planning on eating these popsicles right away, you can leave them in the mold that you used. However, if you plan on storing these in the freezer more long term, place them in an airtight freezer safe bag. If you do that, they should last from 6-8 months.

These look delicious! I might have to try this weekend!
Yes they are so yummy! If you do, let me know how you like them.
Yum – my kids will love these. I like that it is a simple recipe – popsicles get eaten so fast that I hate to make anything super complex!
Yup, our kids went wild for these. I have been making them all summer long. Super yummy! I’m all about the path of least resistance when it comes to recipes. If it is difficult forget it. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
What a great recipe! I picked up a popsicle mold similar to yours a few years ago and I keep forgetting to use it. These are really easy to make and would be perfect during strawberry picking season. Thank you for sharing! Looks like I will have to go find my mold and start using it!
That’s so fun that we have a similar mold. I am super picky about what I bring into our kitchen and this mold made the cut. Side note, we don’t have an ice maker. So we decided extend the use by making ice in the popsicle mold. You could always try that to extend the life and use of your popsicle mold. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
These are so bright and colourful without having artificial dye. I love that they’re made with real fruit rather than Kool-Aid or similar from my childhood. And a blender or food processor makes it super easy! Nothing better than strawberry popsicles on a summer day!
It is so amazing how colorful and vibrant nature truly is. I love that you mentioned these being a great alternative to the kool-aid popsicles. These taste so much better and are a bit more healthy too. The kids and I gobbled these delicious strawberry popsicles up in no time. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
These look like such a refreshing treat! (especially for a day like today when our heat index is 105!)
They were perfect when we had a super warm day. Thank you so much for reading. If you make them, let me know how you like these delicious strawberry popsicles.
What a great and delicious way to capture the taste of summer. I’ll be making these right away!

I agree! I plan on making them again this week. If you make these strawberry popsicles, let me know how it goes for you.
